One Garden Brighton is a newly redeveloped tourist destination, a walled garden, rediscovered, reinvented and opened to the public in 2021, seeing over 340,000 in our first summer season. One Garden Brighton features expertly designed gardens, One Kitchen, a place to eat and drink, One Market, retail space and plant sales, and One Events, offering small and large-scale community events. One Garden Brighton is a subsidiary of Plumpton College.

You will be integral to building this new business, shaping and influencing how the tourist destination will run. As Retail Supervisor, you will lead and supervise the day to day commercial Retail operations and team, including supporting a busy events programme.  


Ahead of our re-opening for a new developmental year, this is a unique position for a dedicated, hardworking, hands-on individual to be part of a team that will be working within the Stanmer Walled Garden. Your role will be to Manage the commercial retail outlet, One Market, a retail space complete with plant sales as well as supporting our busy events programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and leading the day to day operations of a busy commercial retail business including working closely with our senior gardener to promote our own in house grown plant sales. You will ensure smooth cross working operations of both the Market and Kitchen to maximise efficiency and best practice as well superb customer service.

You will not be alone in this as you will have support from the Commercial Manager and the Wider One Garden team and the support of senior colleagues from Plumpton College.


You will be responsible for the Supervision of the Retail team, apprentices, volunteers and students by sharing your own passion for Horticulture, great food and service and leading by example.
