Senior Barista

Full-time, permanent role.

Salary: up to £23,293 per annum

THE OPPORTUNITY

One Garden Brighton is a newly redeveloped tourist destination, a walled garden, rediscovered, reinvented and opened to the public for the first time in Spring 2021. One Garden Brighton welcomed over 340,000 visitors during it's first summer season. One Garden Brighton features expertly designed show gardens, One Kitchen, a destination eatery, being a place to eat and drink, One Market, a retail space complete with plant sales grown in house, and One Events offering small and large-scale community events. One Garden Brighton is a subsidiary of Plumpton College.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new organisation and team which has recently launched One Garden Brighton. You will play an important role in building this new business, shaping and influencing the success of the tourist destination.

THE ROLE

Your role will be to support the commercial outlets, One Kitchen, a destination for seated dining, One Market a place for local produce and takeaway food and drink, and The Cart, our mobile takeaway pop-up, as well as supporting our busy events programme and developing our commercial functions and events business.

The successful candidate will be a qualified experienced barista, responsible for supervising and leading the day to day coffee operations and production preparing and serving high-quality hot drinks at speed working with beans from a local artisan coffee roaster. You will work closely with the Kitchen and Market Supervisors’ to ensure smooth cross working operations to maximise efficiency and best practice as well as superb customer service. Due to the nature of this tourist attraction, it is anticipated that staff will work additional hours during busy seasons, with the opportunity to work reduced hours in the quieter parts of the year.

You will be supported by the One Garden General Manager and the Wider One Garden Brighton team, as well as Plumpton College’s Head of Catering and Hospitality.

THE TEAM

You will be a team player as part of the chef’s team, apprentices, Front of House Team, volunteers and students, sharing your passion for horticulture, great food and service and leading by example.
