Spend a wonderful day at One Garden Brighton, home of Plumpton Colleges Stanmer Campus, and learn from expert Plumpton College Horticulture tutors, to learn new skills on understanding the principles and practices of Biodynamic Gardening.

Biodynamics is a holistic, ecological, and ethical approach to farming, gardening, food, and nutrition. It is rooted in the work of philosopher and scientist Dr. Rudolf Steiner. The ethos is to work in harmony with nature in developing a mixed and rich garden as well as using specific preparations. In addition, Biodynamic practices work with cosmic cycles and the biodynamic calendar which follows and the cycles of the moon to inform our practice of planting, harvesting and tending crops. This practice has gained a wider audience in recent years and has allowed us to become better connected to the land and work in tune with the natural cycles of nature.

During this course, you will learn about the philosophy behind the movement and a chance to understand how interconnected we can be with nature. Come and be inspired by this holistic way of gardening that shows have careful and thoughtful thinking can enhance a landscape and our own gardens.

During this one day workshop you will learn:

  • The practices involved in gardening in a biodynamic way
  • The ways in which you can adapt your own actions to work within this holistic approach to growing food and plants
