We are delighted to host the Green Careers Open Day at One Garden Brighton on Saturday 18 April 2026, supported by the RHS. The event will feature a variety of exhibitors showcasing employers and volunteering opportunities linked to plant-based careers. You’ll also hear from industry professionals and students through guest talks offering advice and inspiration for your own career journey.
The day will feature a wide range of exhibitors to help you discover employers and career opportunities related to the horticultural sector.
The day is free to attend, and you can enjoy locally sourced coffee and freshly baked artisan goods from the Café and our beautiful walled garden.

Join a Q&A session on horticulture careers hosted by the team from Plumpton College at 12:30. This engaging session offers real insights from tutors and industry professionals, along with the opportunity to ask questions directly. You’ll gain an understanding of how to get started in the industry, exploring different routes into horticulture such as college courses, apprenticeships, and degrees. The session will also cover funding options and explain how training works, helping you take your first steps towards a career in this field.

Guided tours with our Head of Grounds and Gardens, Alex Waterfield & Head Gardener Peter Wood. Explore the concept, designs and plants in each of the 12 formal gardens at One Garden Brighton. Garden tours run at 10.30, 11.30, 12.30 & 1.30.
Join apprentices from RHS Wisley for some live practical demonstrations and gardening tips with sessions at 11.00 & 1.00. There will be a chance to ask questions directly and gain insight into horticulture careers and training pathways
