Our new Sketchbook Building Workshops as part of Night School, take inspiration from the borrowed landscape and the landscape forms around us providing confidence and skills required in the industry of garden design. Building a sketchbook is an important stage in any design-led discipline.
This course will help build confidence with mark-making techniques to facilitate ideas and build up themes that could be carried further into the design process.
This is an introductory class that explores the use of charcoal for quick mark making and capturing the essence of a landscape. Immerse yourself in the beautiful surrounding of the Walled Garden and learn new techniques and processes.
Natural charcoal, compressed charcoal and the practice of using negative space through putty rubber mark making.
Classes are delivered by local artist Debbie Hovell.
This course is part of the One Garden Brighton Night School. You'll be studying alongside others after hours, as our campus becomes a hive of activity for horticultural and environmental learning.
You'll have exclusive access to our gardens and campus after the gates close, a chance to grab a drink or browse the shop before your course starts. You'll study as the sun sets around you in a beautiful setting, with contemporary themed gardens to explore.
